Electric Executive runs a pre-booked electric taxi service for business travellers between Hawke's Bay Airport and workplaces and hotels in Napier, Hastings and Havelock North. Fixed fares start at $90 NZD per vehicle, each way, GST included, for up to 3 guests and 2 cases.
This is functional travel. You book a time, we are there, and the fare is the fare. The cabin is quiet enough to take a call on the way in, and your company can hold an account with us and settle monthly rather than paying in the car.
We run airport journeys only. We do not work on call, we do not take street hails, and we do not run restaurant, bar or late-night hospitality work. Every journey is booked ahead, to an address.

What this service is not
- Not an on-call taxi. We do not take street hails or rank work, and we do not run restaurant, bar or late-night hospitality journeys
- Not a luggage vehicle. The taxi fleet is two small electric cars. Two cases is the limit, and a set of international suitcases will not fit
- Not a hosted arrival. There is no greeting at the arrival gate, no hot towel service, no provisioned refreshments, and no sightseeing on the way
- Not held for your party. The vehicle is allocated on availability and released at the end of the journey
Visitors arriving for a holiday, guests travelling to a lodge, and anyone with full luggage should book a private transfer, which starts at $240 NZD per hour with a two hour minimum, or at a fixed fare by route.
Where we go
Hawke's Bay Airport to a workplace or an address in Napier (including Ahuriri and Marine Parade), Taradale, Clive, Haumoana, Te Awanga, Hastings, Havelock North and the Tuki Tuki valley, and the same journeys in reverse.
Cape Kidnappers, golf transfers, wine touring, conference shuttles and long-distance journeys to Taupo, Gisborne, Palmerston North, Wellington and Auckland run as private transfers rather than taxis.
What costs extra, with the figures
- Journeys commencing before 6:00am or after 10:00pm New Zealand time: flat surcharge of $40 NZD per journey
- Waiting time: $1.50 NZD per minute after a five minute grace period from your booked pickup time
- Thule boot box, up to 2 additional large cases or 2 sets of golf clubs: $40 NZD
- Small covered luggage trailer, up to 4 sets of golf clubs and 3 small cases: $90 NZD
- Child seats: available with prior notice
- Card payments carry a 3.5 percent surcharge. Account customers are invoiced instead

Our taxis are accredited for the Hawke's Bay Airport taxi lane, and we meet booked passengers in the arrivals hall rather than waiting on the rank.

Both are small, fully electric cars, sized for a business trip with hand luggage or a case each. We reserve our Mercedes-Benz eVito, V-Class and Sprinter for private transfers and touring, not for taxi work. See the full fleet.
Range and reliability
Passengers sometimes ask what happens if an electric taxi runs out of charge. Every vehicle starts each day on a full charge, and the longest Hawke's Bay journey uses a fraction of available range. The BYD Atto 3 has reached Cambridge, Waikato, on a single charge.

How much is a taxi from Napier Airport to Napier, Hastings or Havelock North?
Fixed fares from Hawke's Bay Airport are $90 NZD to Napier CBD, $130 NZD to Hastings and $145 NZD to Havelock North. Fares are per vehicle, each way, GST included, for up to 3 passengers and 2 cases. Journeys to lodges and other leisure destinations are quoted as private transfers.
Who is the executive taxi service for?
Business travellers flying into or out of Hawke's Bay Airport who need a punctual, fixed-fare journey to a workplace or a hotel. It is functional travel without the trimmings.
Do you run on-call taxi work or restaurant and bar journeys?

Is the executive taxi suitable for visitors arriving on holiday?
Usually not. The taxi fleet is two small electric cars that carry 3 passengers and 2 cases, so a party arriving with full international luggage will not fit, and a taxi carries no hosted arrival. Visiting guests should book a private transfer instead.
Can my company open an account?

How many people can you take?

What is the difference between an executive taxi and a private transfer?
A taxi is a fixed fare from A to B, with the vehicle allocated on availability and a 15 minute grace period after landing. A private transfer gives you a named vehicle class held exclusively for your party, a personal greeting at the arrival gate, hot towel service, provisioned refreshments, and a grace period of 30 minutes for domestic arrivals or 90 minutes for international arrivals. A private transfer also includes a fully hosted arrival experience: a Napier city Art Deco tour, sightseeing on the way, and additional stops to suit your party.
Can I add extra luggage or golf clubs to an executive taxi?
Yes, as an add-on. The Thule boot box carries up to 2 additional large cases or 2 sets of golf clubs for $40 NZD. The small covered luggage trailer carries up to 4 sets of golf clubs and 3 small cases for $90 NZD. Ask for either when you book. Bikes and larger loads travel by private transfer with the large covered trailer.

Electric Executive is a licensed small passenger service running executive, pre-booked airport journeys rather than street hails.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, with prior notice.
Do you go to Cape Kidnappers?
Yes, as a private transfer rather than a taxi. Rosewood Cape Kidnappers sits at the end of a 35 kilometre dead-end road and carries a two hour minimum vehicle allocation, so we price it as a private transfer.
